Akash 2 tablet, the next version of Akash tablet series has been announced by Datawind. The tablet has been announced by the President of India. Well Akash tablet was launched 2 years ago but the company was unable to manufacture enough tablets to complete the demand. Many consumers and students Pre-Booked their Akash Tablet and they have not received their tablet yet. Hope this time Akash 2 will be manufactured in enough quantity to fulfill the requirement. The tablet has launched at a market price of 2,236 INR but it will be available at a subsidized price of 1,132 INR for students. The new version of Akash tablet was introduced by Pranab Mukherjee, President of India at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Comparing with its predecessor, the Akash 2 tablet will come with some advanced features. Akash 2 will feature 1 GHz processor, Android 4.0 operating system, 4 hours of battery back-up and 7 inch capacitive display. Although Akash tablet was not a big hit lets see impact of Akash 2.

Still there is no information about the distribution of this tablet among the students and how this tablet will be available in market for purchase. Indian Government has chosen 244 Engineering colleges to conduct the “Akash in Education” program.
